The line graph illustrates the percentage of citizens with an age about 65 years old and over. The figures cover a period of 100 years starting from 1940 in three nations.
Overall, is obviously the trends for all three countries start with a lower proportion and in the end, all percentages soared. Also, the growth rate, between 1940 and 2040, was erratic for Sweden and USA, but the ratio Japanese inhabitants aged 65 and over rocketed after 2025.
Particularly, the evolution of trends in Sweden and USA was parallel during of 40 years, but the percentage at the beginning was smaller for Swedish (7.5%) than Americans (9%). After 1980, in USA the proportion of population aged 65 and over decreased steadily until 2020 and then will rise gradually having a ratio of 23%, in 2040. In the case of Sweden the percentage fluctuated all the period reaching in 2040 at 25% of individuals with age about 65 years old and over.
