The pie chart provides information about four reasons explaining why agriculture land worldwide degraded during the 1990s. The table depicts the mentioned causes affected to agriculture land in three distinct regions. Overall, it is clear that overgrazing was the main reason that made farmland on global to be degraded, and Europe had the highest percentage of total land degraded caused by given causes.

Looking at the first chart; 35% of land degradation was due to overgrazing, the percentages of the causes forestation and over-cultivation were lower, which accounted for 30% and 28% respectively. It is interesting to note that there was only 7% of other reasons that led to the degradation of global farmland.

Turning to the second chart, we can see that Europe experienced the highest percentage of degraded land, at 23% in total; therein 9.8% of land degradation was due to deforestation, while over-cultivation and overgrazing caused 7.7% and 5.5% of farmland degradation respectively. Meanwhile, Oceania had 13% of degraded farmland, and this was only due to forestation (1.7%) and overgrazing (11.7%). Regarding North America, comparing with other regions, this continent had the lowest percentage of land degradation (5%). The primary cause was over-cultivation, caused 3.3% of degraded farmland compared to the impact of overgrazing (1.5%) and a minor percentage of 0.2% affected by deforestation.
