The line graph compares the price of three different food groups and how these price changed from 1979 to 2009 and the overall trend in consumer price index over the period of 30 years.
Overall, it is clear that prices of three food group and consumer price index increased during the 30-year period. Only figures for fresh fruits and vegetables were higher than overall increase in consumer price index.
It can be seen from the graph that in 1979, prices for three food group were similar, approximately 65. Figures for sugars ans sweets and carbonated drinks in creased gradually during the period and were highest in 2009, about 200 and 150 respectively. However, both figures were lower than consumer price index over the period.
Pricecs for fresh fruits and vegetables were highest in almost years over the 30-year period. It fluctuated slightly at the start of the period and finished at roughly 330 in 2009.
