The graph below shows the information on waste disposal in a European country from 2005 to 2008.

The given bar chart illustrates three method of disposal of waste materials in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Units are measured in million tonnes.

Overall, landfill method of disposal was the most used in 2005. In 2008, landfill method was dominated by dumping in sea. Burning of waste was the least popular among given years.

In 2005, landfill method was used for almost double amount (2000 million tonnes) of disposal than burning and dumping in sea, which were accounts for 900 million tonnes and 1200 million tonnes respectively.

In the following year, again the most popular method of disposal was landfill, but the amount disposed was lesser than that in 2005, which made up 1600 million tonnes. Just under 1200 million tonnes was disposed off by burning method and a little over 1400 million tonnes was dumped in sea.

Dumping in sea method for disposal was took place of landfill in 2008, constituted just over the 1600 million tonnes while landfill method gradually went down to almost three-fourth of dumping in sea and burning of waste materials was used approximately 900 million tonnes.
