The lecture and the reading are both discuss the migration of the endamousour from the north to the south to escape from the harsh weather in the winter. The reading claims that the migration of the enanotosour is possible and provides three reasons to support the claim. However, the lecture refutes this claim, saying that none of the theories mentioned in the reading are convincing.
First of all, the reading claims that the endmontosaurs migrate to the south because there are a lot of foods. The endmontosours feed on plant and in the winter the south is the only place that had plenty of plants to feed the dinosaur. However, the lecture argues that the south was not only the place that had plants 100 year ago. Furthermore, the professor says 100 years ago the sun shine on the north 24 hour per day in the summer, consequently many plants were available. Also in the winter there were many notorious dead plants, in which the endmontosaur can feed on them.
In addition, the reading makes the argument that the Edmontosaurs were living in herds. Many skeletons have been unearthed from the same site. The lecture counters this point by stating that not all the animals that lived in herd are proposed to migration. According to the professor Roosevelt live in the forest as herd and they do not migrate.
Lastly, the reading passage argues that the Endmontasour were capable for migrating long distance. Edmontosaurs run five kilometers in 1 hour support the claim that they able to run fast to reach the south to escape f Edmontosaursrom the harsh winter. However, the lecture refutes this claim by pointing out that only the adult endmontasour are capable to run fast. The juveniles were too slow. Moreover, the juveniles will slow down the herd and the adults endamontasour can not leave the juveniles alone, so they have to stay with them in the north.
