the graph shows UK acid rain emissions, from 4 different sectors between 1990 to 2007.
A glance at the graph provided reveals the information about how much of acid rain emissions were produced by four categories in the UK during a period from 1990 to 2007. The unit was measured in million of tonnes.
Overall, it is apparent that the total amount of acid rain gases in the UK saw a considerable fall over the period in question. In addition, the most common reason causing the production of acid rain emissions was the electricity, gas and water supply sector in 1990, which was replaced by other industries sector in the last year.
Looking at the detail, a high of approximately 3.3 million tonnes of acid rain gases came from the electricity, gas and water supply sector in 1990, then plunged by around 2.8 million tonnes in 2007. Regarding transport and communication sector, it started at about 0.7 million tonnes of emissions in 1990. This figure remained stable at the end of the period after a fluctuating trend, reached a peak of around 1 million tonnes in 2005.
If we look at the domestic sector, the amount of emissions it produced began at a low of 0.6 million tonnes in 1990 and fell steadily to nearly 0.4 million tonnes in 2007, which meant that it caused less than the other sectors. Likewise, a small decline saw in terms of other industries sector, started at around 2.1million tonnes of emission in 1990, then dipped slightly at about 1.2 million tonnes in 2007.
