oil comsumption
A number of oil kegs used each day by four main regions, namely US, Western Europe & Japan, China, Middle East, over the 21-year period from 2009 to 2030 are depicted in the line chart. Generally, oil consumption in the Middle East and China is expected an increase whilst that of the other two regions is predicted a decrease during the period shown.
Interestingly, there was a completely opposite in daily oil consumption between the Middle East and Western Europe & Japan. In 2009, it occupied around 4 and 2 million kegs by former and latter, respectively. In the next 16 years, evaluations reveal that the figure of Western Europe & Japan will decline gradually while the Middle East will rise moderately and both of them will encounter at around 3 million kegs in late 2025. After that, it is forecast that the figures will continue to evolve according to previous its trends, the former will use just over 2 million kegs and approximately 3 million kegs for the latter.
In addition, from 2009 to 2015, the US employed around 10 million barrels day by day. However, estimates indicate that this figure will drop suddenly over the next 15 years, standing at just above 4 million. In contrast, over the first six years, there was a noticeable growth in Middle East consumption and they are anticipated to continue to climb in the coming years.
