The given graph compares the data about how much fish and some various kinds of meat were consumed in a European country over a thirty-two year period from 1979 to 2004. The units are measured in grams.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount of consumption of Chicken climbed up and the amount for the rest items slid throughout the period in the question.
As regards Chicken and Fish, they stood at around 148 grams and 52 grams per person per week in 1979, which was third and bottom in the list respectively. While there was a gradual rise in the consumption of Chicken to finish the term at approximately 249 grams, making it the most popular food in 2004. On the other hand, Fish experienced an opposite trend, declining steadily year on year to about 48 grams in the end of the term, making it the least preferred food.
With respect to Beef and Lamb, there were similar trends for both foods. 1979 to 1982 witnessed a sharp fall from 230 grams to 180 grams for Beef. Likewise, there was a rapid fall to 120 grams from 150 grams for the similar years in the consumption of Lamb. Despite declining suddenly, it rocketed to roughly around 240 grams, the amount being the peak figure of 1983, whereas Lamb saw a steady dip year on year to about 53 grams, which was slightly ahead of Fish at 52 grams in 1979. Having hit a peak in 1983, similarly, Beef followed a similar downward trend as the Lamb, but finished at 100 in 2004, almost two times higher than the lamb.
