The graph and table below give information about water use worldwide and water consumption in two different countries
The line graph illustrates the amount of water spent on three different sectors in the world in a century from 1900 to 2000 whereas the table indicates water utilization in Brazil and Congo in 2000.
Overall, the amount of water use in agriculture was the largest compared to the domestic use was the smallest. Water utilization for irrigated land was higher than Congo in the given year.
Looking more closely at the line graph, we can see that in 1990, the amount of water use for agriculture, industrial use and domestic use about 500 km³, 100 km³ and 50 km³ respectively. However, the needs use water for agriculture was increased dramatically reach almost 3,000 km³ in the end of the period. In comparison, the industrial use significantly less used (above 1,000 km³), followed by approximately 400 km³ water used for domestic use.
According to the table, in 2000 a Brazilian used 359 m³ compared to Congo only 8 m³ per person because of the population in Brazil outnumbered Congo with 176 million and 5,2 million respectively. As a result, Brazilian needs a large irrigated land which was larger than Congo 26,5 times.
