Total time of phone calls
The chart provides information regarding the time usage of telephone calls in the UK with three groups: Local - fixed line, National and international - fixed line and mobiles (all calls) between 1995 and 2002.
It is obvious that the number of local - fixed line was always the highest despite of a fall in 2000. In addition, the figure for national and international - fixed line and mobiles experienced a constant rise by the period of eight years.
To be specific, in 1995, the total number of minutes in using local phones took the first place with over 71% while those in national and international phones and Mobiles was modest, at 38% and 3% respectively. In next years, local phones still increased constantly and peaked at 90% in 1999 before came down and reached about 60% in 2002.
In the same period, the figure for other groups grew up gradually. For example, the number of national and international calls increased by 23% and reached 61% in 2002. Especially, the number of mobiles calls went up rapidly and jumped to about 55% in 2003.
