Overall, it can be observed that over-grazing occupied the main reason for damaging agricultural land, by 35% in the world. During 1990s, three different areas showed various degree of damage by deforestation, over-cultivation, and over-grazing, yielding the most severe one, Europe, which is 23% in total.
It is clear that over-grazing is contributed to the highest rations in Oceania, which is 11.3%, exceeding 1.7% in deforestation and 0% in over-cultivation. However, deforestation was the top reason caused degradation in Europe showed 9.8%. Moreover, North America’s farming was over loaded, 3.3% out of 5% in total land degradation.
During 1990s, the second and third reason jeopardized the available land were deforestation and over-cultivation, which were 30% and 28%, respectively. Finally, there was 7% of other damages in the worldwide.
