"One month ago, all the showerheads on the first five floors of Sunnyside Towers were modified to restrict the water flow to approximately one-third of its original flow. Although actual readings of water usage before and after the adjustment are not yet available, the change will obviously result in a considerable savings for Sunnyside Corporation, since the corporation must pay for water each month. Except for a few complaints about low water pressure, no problems with showers have been reported since the adjustment. Clearly, restricting water flow throughout all the twenty floors of Sunnyside Towers will increase our profits further."
Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation is likely to have the predicted result. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

Albeit it is necessary to take steps to reduce the water consuming; however, it should be done by the occupants optionally not necessarily forced by the owner of the Sunnyside Towers apartment building. Therefore, this action is morally unacceptable since they have not informed the residents of the apartment beforehand.

The apartment owner is expected to take a few issues into consideration prior to make any judgment. In the first place, the corporation should clarify whether the first five floors are all occupied during the period of time they adopt that modification, since the author indicates that there have been a few complaints about the flow of water; therefore, we do not know whether the complaints have been made merely by a few residents or the whole occupants of five floors.

Secondly, the author obviously points out that actual readings of water usage before and after the adjustment are not yet available; hence, this inquiry arises that how they can make such prediction? Unless they make precise comparison of pre and post usage of water consumption, any predicting that they will benefit from this policy is invalidated.

Thirdly, for each corporation it is logical that the matter of profit and loss ought to be weighed up while the project is designed and completed; because when each apartment is hired the total rent is included and it not fair to modify the circumstances after the contract is concluded. Therefore, one more question is raised how they have not been sure about their profits in advance and have come up with this idea later?

In conclusion, unless they rule out all assumption mentioned above they cannot predict that their initiative will be proper and subsequently generalize their improper finding to the rest of floors. Perhaps, in order to make their desirable profits, they should attempt to devise other measures which do not infract the rights of the residents.
