Since the advent of societies and sedentary lifestyles, peoples and rulers have always been trying to do their best in order to live in a prosperous community in which all people have a certain amount of wealth. There are different opinions on the factors that make a society take a step in a way so that its people have a specific amount of well-being. Some people hold the idea that the most conducive thing that makes people more wealthy and prosperous is to question the authority, rulers, and governors frequently. However, others with whom my standpoint is aligned believe that over-questioning the people who are in charge not only does not help people to increase their wealth but also impedes people from putting a proper amount of strives into the daily tasks that they undertake. In what follows, I will delineate my viewpoint on the ground of two persuasive reasons.
Without a doubt, the most consequential point corroborating my stance on this subject is that when people are used to blaming others for their failures, they will not be able to see their flaws. A society will not improve unless its people put their efforts into the right path. Questioning authorities and blaming rulers or political and economic issues does not help people do create a better life neither for themselves nor for their families. This action just takes out the energy that they could consume in order to improve their lives and the economic situation of their country. According to one survey conducted by researchers at Harvard University, the most prosperous countries, such as Germany, have had the least protests during the last decades. German people have the knowledge that if they want to make better lives for themselves, their families, and their descendants, they have to work hard and stop blaming others for their failures. They do not shirk their responsibilities and accept their flaws. In contrast, people living in less successful countries, such as Iran, always blame governors and outside elements for their failures.
Although the previous reason is the first one crossing the mind at first glance, another remarkable point deserving some words here is that prosperity is a common goal of a society that cannot be obtained unless people shelve their own goods and put their strives in the way of their country's progress rather than their own progress. Society is like a company. If every worker in a company does his or her task just for his own good, no matter how the company is big or managed by whom, the company will be bankrupt in the end. On the other hand, if each worker considers the success of the company over his own success, the company, sooner or later, will become prosperous, as do all the workers, even if its managers are not competent enough. The same scenario applies to society. A society would not improve economically, politically, or socially if its people put their own goals prior to the main goal of the society.
To make the long story short, and reflecting upon all the aforementioned grounds, one soon realizes that questioning others is not helpful in a society's progress, no matter its size. People must accept their failures and put their efforts on the right path toward the common goal of their societies. In this way, they can reach the prosperity and success they have always sought.
