The first chart depicts changes in the number of married and divorced couples in the USA over a 30-year period while the second chart offers a glimpse of American matrimonial status in 1970 and 2000.
Overall, there was a gradual decrease in the number of marriages throughout the course. Also, it is obvious that the vast majority of American adults were married in both given years.
