The given map shows the development of the village near London with the name of Chorleywood. The population of this village has increased steadily since the middle of the nineteenth century. If we look at the map, we can easily see that approximately in 1868-1883 this village covered only a small part near the main road. After 1883 till 1922 the area becomes larger, and covers both right and left sides of Chorley station. During this period a new railway was ready for utilization, and additionally it can be noted that the left side of this railway grew in 1922-1970.
Refer to this map, we can stress that the greatest growth in Chorleywood, began in 1970 and continues 24 years, when the motorway was constructed around Chorleywood Park and Golf course and territory near motorway, also the right vicinity of it was settled by people.
As we see from the map, the history of its progress passed many years and it really helped improvement of Chorleywood.
