Compare the advantages and disadvantages of three of the following as media for communicating information. State which you consider to be the most effective.-comics-books-radio-television-film-theatre

Firstly I discuss advantages and disadvantages of books as a media for communicating information. Book is one of the oldest ways for exchanging information, from thousands of years ago humans used books for transferring and receiving information. I believe book has many advantages and just few disadvantages which I will address some of them in following.

First of all to illustrate the importance of books I must note that, one of the factors all researchers consider to evaluate the education level of a society is the rate of reading books in that particular society. As I mentioned early book has lots of advantages such as enriching us, introducing us to others experiences and allowing us to educate ourselves. However, there might be few disadvantages, like the fact that trees had to die in order to produce papers or their size and weights which can occupy lots of space and it’s difficult to move them around when you have many books because they are heavy.

My second choice for communicating information is television. Nowadays television is one of the most influential media in the world and it is so difficult to find a house that does not have a TV in it. Television is the information source for many people, they get news, knowledge, entertainment and many other thing from it. However, there are disadvantages. Unlike books we don’t have choice to select what we want and further more television is accessible to everyone and every age. For instance, there are some programs that are not suitable to children and can influence them.

Theatre is my third choice. In my opinion the way theatre influences people is so similar to television with little differences. Theatre has all the advantages of television except that we don’t usually get news from Theatre but in other hand theatre is more touching and people usually feel included in the play, nonetheless, in case of theatre you can select the one you like to see. However in disadvantage side, theatre is not widespread among people and the number of audiences is limited.

In conclusion, although I like books most but I personally believe, out of these three media television is the most effective one. The reason is that television is the most pervasive media and additionally it is the easiest one to use.
