The bar graph compares the maximum number of asian elephants in several countries between 1997 and 2007.

Although it is noticeable that Indian population of elephants is the biggest in this chart, exceeding the mark of 7000, there is the biggest difference between the maximum number in 1997 and 2004, almost 10000 and 7500 respectively. By contrast, China has the least number of elephants, barely reaching the index of 1000 and less than five hundred in 1997 and 2007.

The only country whose maximum population grew up is Cambodia, whereas other’s number of elephants has reduced. In 1997, it was about 1300 then it increased by 200 up to 1500. On the other hand, there is no difference in the number of elephants both in 1997 and 2007 in Laos. It was a bit more than 1000 and did not change over the period.

Overall, Cambodia and Laos are the only countries where the maximum number of elephants did not decrease.
