In many countries, schoolchildren are required to wear uniforms. Do you think this should be enforced in all schools?
Recently, there has been a controversy about whether students ought to wear uniforms at school. Many claim that this rule should be a must, believing that its benefits far outstrip the pitfalls. Personally, I side with this notion due to several reasons.
One of the justifications associated with the use of school uniforms is that it erases the intangible gap between the wealthy and the poor. Apparently, children with different backgrounds would behave variously because of their diverse domestic lifestyles. Therefore, it is likely that schoolchildren coming from poor-striken families are ignored or isolated or even humiliated by the way they get dressed. The situation may be worse as the lifestyles' discrepancy probably promotes school violence which has been warned in numerous headlines in this day and age.
Moreover, time-saving is another advantage of uniform. Students in their puberty period seem to pay much attention to their appearance, clothes, hairstyles, perfumes for instance. Consequently, wasting hours in front ot the mirror just to find an eye-catching outfits for school time if definitely unreasonable. On the contrary, implementing uniforms rule, in a way, can prevent this teenage problem considering the fact that all are equally the same. Aditionally, uniforms ensure unity and aesthetic values in educational environment in some countries, especially the conservative ones.
All things considered, in my opinion, uniforms enforcement should be widespread by dint of these aforementioned facts. It is also proved to be quite efficient as uniforms are compulsory in numerous nations and it thus need maintaining.
