Teenagers and modern family with working parents
In many countries there has been an increase in social problems involving teenagers in recent years. Many people believe that this is due to modern lifestyles because parents spent more time at work and have less time to supervise their children. To what extent do believe, this is true?
It is an obvious fact that the adolescents are often propelled into various anti-social behaviours these days. It is argued that,it is mainly because of the contemporary styles led by the parents who are running short of time. In my perspective, teens from less privileged and traditional families often resort to delinquent activities and not the children of working parents.
It is beyond question, that the children from well- to -do families are motivated to academic aspects and they are invigorated by the timely support offered by their parents. Their energies are channelized to the holistic development of children in both academic and cultural activities. As a result, they are properly innovated and their needs are met. Therefore, they do not find time and necessity to avert to perverted behaviours.
Moreover, the upbringing of teenagers in a working family really differs from the other type of families. They are backed up psychologically and emotionally , so that they learn to grow up independently without much dependence. Researches have shown that children of employed parents have greater carrier success. Children tend to violate the laws when they are deprived of freedom. They always have an inclination to transcend beyond the ethical bars. This breeds true in case of teenagers. Working parents are really aware of these problems and they try to overcome by lending them more freedom under their supervision. They also try to find time to spend with their children in spite of their hectic work schedules.
However, some children of the employed parents take the advantage of the situation and divert to misbehaviour. Such incidents are very less when compared the corruotion done by the children from traditional or poor families. The lack of time is a negligible factor as positives outweigh the negatives.
