The table compares data about the differently aged people involved in working in various sectors in the UK. The table has been drawn according to the statistics in 1998 and 2006. Overall, it can be clearly seen, that in technology sector there was a significant increase in the number of people working in that field.
Looking firstly to figures for the building sector, it is obvious that the number of people employed to it dramatically decreased by 2006. Namely, a fall of almost 33 thousand workers was noticed in the group of 26-35 aged people.
The patterns for other three sectors were different. For example, the proportion of people working in hotel and catering sectors, rised only in four out of five age groups. A decline from 25,784 to 18,998 was observed in the youngest age group. Figures for education sector were erratic. A fall in the number of employers was noticed in the youngest and oldest age groups, while more middle-aged people prefered to work.
The most striking differences were seen in the amount of people involved to the technology sector. Noticeable surge of over 100 thousand of people was noticed in the younger groups. Moreover, changes in the older groups, namely 46-55 and 56-65 were significant, too. From 3,090 to 54,888 in former and from 800 to 19,352 in latter.
