The diagram presents the development of Chorleywood chewing village during a 126-year period from 1868 to 1994.
Overall, the development of the village divided into four periods. The first period was 15 years between 1868 and 1883 and the next was 39 years and the third period was 39 years started from 1883 and the last period was 24 years from 1970 to 1994.
In the first period, the development was focused on the infrastructure. There were two main roads that were built. One road was built to connect north and south areas while another was lied alongside north areas to connect west and east areas.
In the second period, the horizontal areas were developed in the south west of the areas and then continued to the next period the when the black areas were built while the motor way was constructed in this period.
There were two development in the last period; the diagonal areas in south and north east areas and the rail way.
