The chart below shows estimated world illiteracy rates by region and by gender for the year 2000.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

The bar chart indicates the figures of the prediction of world illiteracy rates by regions: Developed countries, Latin America, East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Arab States, South Asia and by sex.
At first glance, the greatest illiterate rate belonged to South Asia for both men and women, with around 33% and well under 55%, respectively. Arab States possessed the second place for the number of the illiterate male, around 30%. By contrast, the least rate illiteracy for male as well as female was developed countries, just about 1% for men and 2% for women. As for Latin America, there was nearly the same numbers in illiteracy for sexes, 10% for men and 11% for women. In East Asia, the number of illiterate women was more than double than that of men, just about 20% and nearly 9%.
It is concluded that South Asia owned the largest number of illiterate people, Arab States had the second place for women illiteracy and Sub –Saharan Africa was responsible for the third position of illiterate female.
