Advantages and disadvantages of learning a foreign language at primary school
Some people clam that the children begin to learn a foreign language at primary school is better than secondary time. In my opinion, it contains benefits and drawbacks.
On the one hand, the mainly advantage of young children learn foreign language is very fast. Many educators and professors published books and papers to support this view. according their research, they compared the ability of learn language between children and adults, and a result show: children have higher score than adults. In addition, in experiments show the best time to learn is 3 to 5 years old. Because children's brain has strongly ability to organise new thing, for them, it is a good time to teach them.
On the other hand, the obvious argument is that young children pick up languages much easier than teenagers, even though they learning easier, it is not meaning they know how to use correctly, they almost model tongue or sounds. For example, if someone speaks wrong grammatical sentences in front of a young child, and not correcting immediately, this may cause the child learning or using the wrong sentence in daily life. So, begin to learn foreign language at primary stage will lead learners more confuse.
In conclusion , the research think and suggest , when young children learn different language at 3 to 5 years old , is the best period. we know the golden time to learn, and next important thing that we should notice is 'how to teach and guide'. that is a truly good way to children.
