The line graph illustrates the figures in millions for the number of people who migrate from the countryside to cities in three specific countries from 2000 to 2025, including guessing for the future.
Overall, all the countries experienced an upswing in the period 2000 to 2020. However, only the number of countries A and C have been forecast to continue climbing up for the next 5 years.
It is clear from the chart that country A started with the most migrants (about 15 million). Then over the period, it underwent a significant upswing, particularly between 2010 and 2015 (around 42 to 70 million) and this upward trend is forecast to continue (reaching 86 million by 2025). Similarly, the figures for country C was in the third-place with about 14 million. For the next 5 years, this number remained the same and after 2005 is predicted to see a dramatic increase from 14 to 50 million, surpassing Country’s A figures in 2020 reaching around 95 million at the end. However, country B bucks the trend somewhat. Whilst consistently steady between 2000 and 2020, its upturn is far less significant than the other two countries (10 to 30 million). Furthermore, post 2020, it is forecast to reach a plateau at around 30 million.
