The bar and lineal charts illustrate the proportion of governmental expenditures on the Arts and the comparison of the numbers of participants of the events in 1995 and 2005.
Looking from an overall perspective, the biggest sums were spent on literature regardless the year, whereas on the second spot there were visual arts in 1995 and theatre in 2005. It is also apparent that the musical events attracted the majority of people both in 1995 and 2005, whereas theater was the least popular.
As for details, the major expenditures were focused on literature and the third part of all budget in 1995 was spent on visual arts and music each in nearly same proportion, but in 2005 the leading positions were held by music and theater.
The number of people participating in the Arts events differed depending on the form of arts and in general there was an upward trend with the only exception in the numbers of the participants interested in visual arts. The outlier both in 1995 and 2005 was music with over then 100 000 and 150 000, respectively. The next nearest event was theater with a slight increase in 2005, followed by visual arts fluctuated around 50 000. In the final position was literature under 30 000 by 2005.
