The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
The bar chart shows the proportion of Australian men and women in different age groups who played sports regularly in 2010. Overall, it is obvious that the percentage of women doing activities was always larger than that of men in any age group except the one from 15 to 24.
Starting with the people of 35 to 44 years of age, the most significant difference can be seen, and 52.5% women but 39.5% men did exercise regularly. It was followed by that in the age group of 45 to 54(53.3% versus 43.1%), of 55 to 64 (53% against 45.1%) and of 25 to 34 (48.9% and 42.2%). However, it can be seen in the proportion of old people(65 and over) that the gap was the least obvious, and the figures for both genders were nearly the same, 47.1% for women and 46.7% for men.
Turning now to the group of 15 to 24, however, there were more boys than girls. Compared with 47.7% women, 52.8% men played sports very often.
