The bar graph demonstrates the percentage of Australian population doing ordinary physical activity in the year 2010. The information is divided by gender and age group as shown in graph.
For overview perspective, the numbers of females in almost all age groups were markedly bigger than one of the males in the same age. Only in the group of 15 to 24, the male’s percentage were significantly larger.
Looking at the male percentages, teenagers in the age of fifteen to twenty had their regular physical activities done in the highest percentage of all, as seen at 52.8% in the chart. On the other hand, the percentages of men in other groups remained relatively stable. 42.2%, 39.5, 43.1% are respectively depicted for the people in age of 25 to 34, 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 years. However, there was a small increase between the 45s and 65s shown as the growth from 45.1 to 48.7%.
On the contrary for the women, the percentage of people doing sports rose considerably when it came to the older age group. Although there was a sharp decrease to 47.1% in the group of 65 and older, the number grew significantly from 47.7 percent for age 15 to 24 to approximately 53 percent in the group of 45 to 64.
