The given chart illustrates the percentage of Australian men and women routinely exercising depending on their age in 2010. Generally, there is a fluctuation in the percentage of Australian men, with the steady decrease until the age group of 35-44 and after that the increase until that of 65 and over. On the other hand, women represented the reverse fluctuation where there are the increasing percentage of regularly exercising women until the age group of 45-54 and it started to decrease until that of 65 and over.
Australian men who were 15 to 24 in 2010 tended to do physical activity on a regular basis more than other age groups, while women in the same group showed the second lowest proportion. What is significant is that men never reached over 50% except the youngest age group and it even declined to just under 40% in the group of 35-44-year-old men, with recording the lowest ratio. However, women took more than 50% from 35 to 64 age groups and no considerable decrease of women's percentage of regular physical workout was found on the chart, with little fluctuation around 50%.
The gap between women and men was the biggest in the 35 to 44 age group, with more than 10% difference. In a contrast to this, around 47% of people who were 65 and over regularly took exercise regardless of their sex in 2010.
