The bar graph compares the total number of one-person households in terms of sex and age in England in the year 2011, and the piechart compares the number of one-person households in terms of the number of bedrooms they have.
In general, more than 50% of the population who were living alone, were male by gender and 64 years old or below by age. The majority of the one-person households had two bedrooms.
More specifically, in 2011, the people of the age group 35 to 49 years were the single living males in England, which is the maximum out of all other age groups, at 65% males. In addition, the highest percentage of the females living alone in the country were of the age group 85 years and over, with nearly 75% old aged females living alone so far. Furthermore, 35.4% of the one-person household, owned two bedrooms in their houses, while only 5.3% had five or more bedrooms in the year 2011.
Interestingly, among the young people aged from 16 years to 24 years, the majority of the people living alone were male by gender. The proportion of single living people who had one or three bedrooms was similar, at 29%.
