It is clear t that Email was the most popular reason why British adults using Internet over the period shown. Additionally, the rates of banking and commercial (vendor) users were equal among two genders.
During 2001, the percentage of mature men in this country using Internet for checking Email was highest, at almost 100%, while the figure for women was slightly lower, at over 90%. There was nearly 40% of adult males playing games on Internet, compared to around 18% of grown-up females.
In contrast, just over 60% of adult female consumers used Internet for commercial purpose, whereas males ‘s figure stood at about 38%. In addition, the rate of grown-up men using Internet for health care reason was only 17%, while the figure for women was noticeably higher, at around 38%. However, the proportions of two genders were the same when using Internet for banking and commercial(vendor), at 41% and 20% respectively.
