The bar chart illustrates how much time men and women spending their time to do housework per day in the United Kingdom.
Overall, women spend more time on doing household tasks than their male counterparts, except gardening, pet care, and maintenance odd jobs. It is also clear that females spend the most on doing kitchen tasks, while gardening and pet care are the most-consuming chores for men.
It can be seen from the chart that women spend an average of 75 minutes a day on doing kitchen tasks as opposed to only 30 minutes spent by their men counterparts. Similarly, women spend over twice as much time on caring for and playing with their own children as men, with the figures being 45 minutes and about 20 minutes respectively. It is readily apparent that women are more active in house cleaning and tidying than men (almost an hour and 12 minutes respectively). The biggest difference t is seen in the washing, ironing and sewing category on which women spend 25 minutes, compared with few less than 5 minutes spent by their men counterparts.
In contrast, men spend 50 minutes per day on gardening and pet care, whereas their female counterparts dedicate only half of that amount. Also, 25 minutes are spent by men on maintenance odd jobs, compared with nearly 10 minutes spent by women.
