The bar chart shows the highest qualification attained by sex for the working age population in Wales in 2001/2002
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares the percentage of males and females achieving different qualifications in Wales in 2001/2002.
Overall, most of GCSE grade A+ to C certificates were gained by women, whereas more men attained GCE A level or other degrees.
For women, nearly 30% of them achieving grade A+ to C in GCSE level while only under 20% of men gained it. The same pattern can be seen for higher education when approximately 10% of degrees were women’s and the percentage was higher than men’s. However, about 25% of females did not qualify any kinds of education, in comparison with the percentage of 20% of males.
For men, they tended to be better than women at GCE A level with the proportion of almost 30% meanwhile the percentage for women was merely 15%. In addition, over 10% of them were awarded a degree or equivalent. It was also true for achieving other certificates with the same proportion as the aforementioned category
