The bar chart shows the percentage of the total world population in 4 countries in 1950 and 2003 and projections for 2050.
The chart demonstrates the overall world population of four countries namely india, US, china and japan in 1950 and 2002. it also provides the predicted population of those countries in 48 years later. it can be seen in general that china had the largest inhabitants in the past, but in the future, the world largest population title is prospected to belong to india.
Starting with india, the country contributed 15% of the world inhabitants in 1950 and 17% in 2002, that number is foreseen to keep rising to about 19% in 2050.
china and japan, however, experienced a downward trend in such scale. There were 23% and just under 5% of the world residents were from china and japan respectively in 1950. 52 years later, those proportions dropped to 20% and 3% respectively. The figures are predicted to continue to decline in the future, in which 15% of the world residents are Chinese while around 1% is Japanese.
US’s population accounted for 6% in 1950, before decreasing into 5% in 2002, and is prospected to remain stable in the next 48 years.
