The chart shows how many passengers use transport in European towns, divided into four categories during forty-year period since 1960
Overall, it was noticeable that the figure for car experienced an upward trend during the period, whereas that other transports saw a reserved trend. Moreover, most travelers used the car in 2000.
Turning to detail, 1n 1960, foot, bike, and bus were used by most people in Europe, while the former accounted for 34% - the maximum recorded - the two latters were at 25% and 18% consecutively. By contrast, the smallest proportion of people used the car in Europe just under 10%.
Forty years later, the number of passengers used the car which increased significantly by more than a third from 6% to 36%. While the figures for bus, foot, and bike saw a downward trend, falling to 16%, 9%, 6% each. In 2000, car transport had the largest percentage of travelers in Europe (nearly 40%). Meanwhile, at approximately 6 % of passengers were using the bike.
