The bar graph shows the total manufacturing production in percentages Asia, Europe, and the rest of the world.
The given graph compares Asia, Europe, and the other part of the world in terms of the proportion of manufacturing generation in total over the course of 160 years, beginning in 1840.
It is clear that there was an overall downward trend in the figures for Asia and Europe while a reserve trend was recorded in the rest of the world. Another striking feature is that European countries had the largest proportion of the total production of manufacturing.
In 1880, Asian countries registered a significant decrease of two-fifths in the percentage of manufacturing production after ranking first at 50% in 1840. In addition, there was a mild increase of roughly 5% in the figure for Europe in 40 years’ time. In 1920, there existed a stark contrast between the percentages of the manufacturing production in Asia and Europe, with the former hitting its lowest point at 20% and the latter peaked at 50%. But at the end of the surveyed period, Europe was dwarfed by Asia with the proportion of total manufacturing generation at approximately 28%.
Regarding the rest of the world, the figure for it stood at 10% in 1840 and then rocketed to around 38%, which was its highest point during the time frame, in 1960. Forty years later, this figure fell marginally by about 5%.
