However, this feature was influenced by a decreasing trend and fell slightly to 2 millions cases in the year of 2000. In contrast, the number of divorces display a fluctuation during this time duration. The divorcing rate rose to reach its peak at just under 1.5 millions and then went down to 1 in 2000.
The percentage of married and widowed experienced a downward trend, while other two features climbed up. In 2000, the three most significant marital status are married, never married and divorced, respectively.
