The chart shows Australian government investments is different energy sectors in comparison how much each sector generated electricity.
Australian government invested into 5 different energy sectors. The biggest disproportion appears in wind sector which gets the most investments - 42 percent, but it is second lowest in electricity generation - only 2 percent. Also other huge disproportion is in coal sector which produces the most electricity in Australia, but it is one of the poorest supported with only 10 percent investments. In the first chart is mentioned that 13 percent investments gets “other” sector which does not generate any electricity.
In comparison these two charts, the nuclear sector is the most equal within 21 percent investments which produces 22 % electricity. Solar sector is supported 8 times more that it gives energy. The most poorly supported sector is natural gas, but it is second biggest energy producer with 27 percent.
Overall, all sectors are supported by government disproportionately to the energy it produces, despite nuclear sector where investments goes into equation with electricity generated.
