The chart below gives information about European people of different age groups who went to gym once a month or more between 1990 and 2010.

The line chart illustrates the percentage of European people going to gym in 4 age groups: 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45 and over from 1990 to 2010.

Overall, the portion of all age groups showed an increase over the period, especially group 18-24 with the most remarkable rise.

In 1990, starting as the highest among 4 groups at about 9%, the 25-34 group then experienced a dramatic increase to 50% in 2010, nearly 5 times higher than in the beginning year. At 8%/ the 18-24 age group ranked second in 1990 and skyrocketed to its peak in 2006 at about 58%, 7 times higher than in 1990. After taking a slight plunge to 51% in 2008, the percentage of 18-24 group the made a recovery to about 58% in 2010.

The 35-44 age group leapt from about 4% in 1990 to 40% in 2010. Following the similar pattern, the portion of people aged 45 and over also started at about 3% which was the lowest among 4 groups, gradually increasing to its highest point at about 21% in 2010.
