The bar chart illustrates the expenditure of global game software, CDs and DVD/video, consumed between 2000 and 2003.
Overall, all figures experienced an upward trend over the period given, except for the number of CDs. While the figure for CDs was the highest, the consumption of games software was the least during a 4-year period.
In terms of game software, the figure started at 12 billion dollars in 2000. In the following years, the expenditure of game software increased steadily and finished at 18 billion dollars in 2003.
In 2000, the figure for DVD/video, at 18 billion dollars, was slower than that of CDs, at 37 billion dollars. Although the expenditure of CDs was the highest at the beginning year, there was a downward trend in the rest of the period. The figure for CDs decreased slightly and finished at 32 billion dollars in 2003. In contrast, the consumption of DVD/video soared in the next 3 years and peaked at 31 billion dollars in 2003.
