The table and the column chart illustrate the differences and changes in the percentage change of households accessing the high-speed Internet provided by five different countries in 2001 and 2002. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were upward trends in all countries, especially the most remarkable change could be found in Britain.
In particular, when it comes to Britain, the graph witnessed a dramatic increase of 230% from 3.3 to 10.9 per 1000 people in the number of households connecting to the Internet. Concerning the USA, the percentage of families in 2001 outnumbered that in 2002 by 5 to 2, particularly at 9.3% and 25.11% respectively, which accounted for the highest number in 2002.
Similarly, regarding Switzerland, a significant rise of 120% from 3.6 to 7.9 per 1000 people was experienced in the number of users. In terms of Germany and South Korea, the period underwent a growth of 80% and 20% from 3.4 and 122 per 1000 people for the former to 5.6 and 134.4 per 1000 people for the latter in the percentages of households accessing high-speed Internet, which constantly constituted the least changes.
