The chart below shows the amount of money per week spent on fast foods in
Britain. The graph shows the trends in consumption of fast foods.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
There are two different chart and graphs on the picture displayed the expenditure on fast foods by three income groups and consumption rate of fast foods during 1970-1990 in Britain.
According to the bar chart, first of all, it could be seen that there are tree groups base on their income: high income, average income and low income.
High income group spend 42 pence per person per week on hamburgers which is the maximum of consumption rate between three groups. Also it should be noted that eating fish, chips and pizza are similar in this group by consumption rate of 19 pence per week per person.
Average income group spent more money on eating hamburgers as same as previous group, almost 32 pence per week per person. Plus, 25 pence per person per week was spent on buying fish and chips which is more than of money were spent on pizza by consumption rate of 12 pence per person per week.
Apart from that, in low income group, each person spent 18 pence weekly on buying fish and chips. Added, they spent 14 pence per person on hamburgers and less than 10 pence per person on pizza every week.
I believe , there is a correlation between amount of income and money was spent on fast foods by individuals.
Based on the graph, there is a sudden increase in consumption of hamburgers during 1970-1990 from 100 to 500 grames.
It is immediately apparent from the graph that fish and foods unlike other junk foods has gradual decrease in consumption from 310 grames to nearly 230 grames during those years.
As the graph depict, pizza line has gradual increase during those years from 40 grames to 280 grames.
