the chart below shows the amount of time that 10 to 15-years-old spend chatting on the internet and playing on games consoles on an average school day
The chart illustrates how much time girls and boys at the age of 10 to 15 spend on chatting on the internet and playing on games console on a normal weekday in Britain.
In conclusion boys are more interested in playing games than chatting on the internet while girls prefer the opposite thing. Besides, it can also be seen that most of them spend less than an hour or one to 3 hours on the two activities mentioned rather than more than 4 hours.
Taking a closer look at the boys' activities, it can be seen that they are far more keen on playing on games console than spending time chatting. While the number of boys chatting on the internet for less than 1 hour is almost the same as 1 to 3 hours, there's a big difference in that of playing game. To be more specific, boys who spend 1 to 3 hours on games console make up for 45, four-thirds higher than less than 1 hour.
Regarding the girls, they spend more time chatting online than playing games. The number of girls chatting for 1 to 3 hours is just slightly higher than that of less than 1 hour, at 35% and 25% respectively. In contrast, at about 38% playing on games consoles for less than1 hour, three times higher than 1 to 3 hours and even higher than the number of boys to spend less than one hour playing games.
