The graph illustrates the proportion of people who own electrical gadgets in comparison to the time-consuming in doing housework of a specific country over a period starting in 1920 and ending in 2019.

The first graph shows the percentage of using washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner from 1920 to 2019. There was significant increase in the amount of refrigerator from 0 percent in1920 to 55 percent in 1940 then rose steadily to reach 100 percent in 1980 and remain unchanged. Similar to refrigerator, vacuum cleaner started at highest point at 30 percent in 1920 then surged gradually before it reached the highest peak at 100 percent and stayed at the same until 2019. Meanwhile, washing machine hold the dominant in 1920 with 40 percent then rose significantly to 70 percent in 1960 before it experienced a downturn to 62 percent in 1980 and then surged steadily to reach the highest peak in 2019 with 73 percent.
Conversely to the increase of household appliances, the time spent for housework saw a significant decline with the plummet rapidly from 50 percent to 20 percent and continued to decrease until it hit the low at 10 percent in 2019.
In brief, there was a profound development of household gadgets during the period between 1920 and 2019 which is quite a different decrease in the number of hours used for housework per week.
