In 1995, the proportion of energy produced from coal in France was the highest, at 29.80%, this figure experienced a slight increase of about 1% to 30.93% in 2005. Similarly, in the first year, the percentage of energy created from gas made up for 29.63%, which rose modestly to 30.31% in 2005.
Regarding the remaining sources of energy, the percentages of energy production from Nuclear and other resources grew sharply to 10.10% and 9.10% respectively. By contrast, this figure for petro made up 29.27% in 1995, which decreased significantly to 19.55% by the end of the period.
