The chart below shows how much money is spent in the budget on different sectors by the UAE government in 2000.
The pie chart shows the UAE government's expenditure on different category in 2000. Overall, the UAE government spent over 300 billion AED in total, mostly on Social security, Health and personal services and Education.
It is clear that the UAE government spent the most on Social security, which accounted for about a third of the total expenditure. Another two sectors, namely Health and personal services and Education, also received major investments. The expenditure was 53 billion AED for Health and personal services, while 38 billion AED was spent on Education.
In contrast, only 9 billion AED were spent on Transport in 2000, which was also the lowest amount of all category. Sectors such as Industry, agriculture and employment, Housing, heritage and environment and Law and order also received minor investments by the government, with the expenditure of 13 billion, 15 billion and 17 billion AED, respectively. Besides, the government spent pretty the same amount of money on Debt interest, Defence and Other expenditure. The amount was 22 billion AED for Other expenditure while the other two sectors both received 23 billion.
