The chart below shows the movement of people from rural to urban areas in three countries and predictions for future years.
The line chart provides information about people who moved to urban areas in Iran, India, and Russia between 2000 to 2020 and their future predictions.
Overall, it is seen clearly from the line graph that the Russian moved to cities the most, but it overtook by Iran. Meanwhile, the Indians moved steadily to urban areas throughout the period.
In 2000, the Russians were the biggest movers to urban areas, almost 25 million per year. The next highest is Indians, with around 10 million, which was nearly eight times double from Iranians. However, by the end of the period, by 2020, people who changed their houses from rural areas increased drastically for Russia and Iran, while Indians increased steadily, there were at 30 million by 2020.
In 2025, Italian people overtook the Russians over 10 million on this list, while Italian rose to 90 million and Russians was below 90 million. By contrast, Indians were estimated at the same position with 30 million per year by 2025.
