A similar fluctuated trend also witnessed in the hotel industry, with a sharp rise to 1400 jobs in 1994. However, by 2009 this had decreased to over 1100 jobs in the final research year.
On the other hand, despite starting at 900 and 800 jobs in 1989, the figures for sport and leisure as well as travel and tours slightly rose to over 1100 and 900 jobs respectively in 1999. However, these figures soon dropped significantly to 700 jobs for the former field and 400 jobs for the later field in 2009.
