The bar graph provides information about how many journeys were taken by children in a nation in two separate years (1990 and 2010) to go to school and come back from school by using 5 different transportation choices.
Overall, it can be seen that most of the students prefer to travel by walking in 1990 whereas the most popular transportation mode which was used by the students was car passenger in 2010.
Looking at the bar graph in more detail, it is evident that the number of journeys which were taken by students to go to and from school by walking stood at over 12 million in 1990, which was the highest figure of the whole chart, compared to 6 million in 2010. The number of journeys which were taken by children to go to school and come back from school by cycling in 1990 was higher than in 2010, at just over 6 million and 2 million respectively.
Turning to the remaining data, the number of bus journey which were taken by students in 1990 stood at approximately 7 million as opposed to around 5 million in 2010. Car passenger journeys and walking and bus journeys which were taken by students in 1990 was just over 4 million and nearly 6 million, respectively. By 2010, the former had increased significantly to around 11 million and the latter had decreased to around 3 million.
