The chart below shows the percentage of adults of different age in the UK who used the Internet everyday from 2003-2006. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The bar chart compares the proportion of adults of different age groups using the Internet everyday over the period of 4 years, between 2003 and 2006.
Overall, the percentage of Internet users aging between 16 and 24 was the highest, while the opposite was true for those who were over 65 years old during the period.
Within the first two years, about 80% of adults in the 16-24 age group used the Internet everyday. In 2005, all users in this age group got access to the Internet, which was the highest figure recorded during the period. By contrast, the percentage of over 65 year-old users was at the lowest point, with only around 20% during 4 years.
Regarding the other age groups, there was little difference in the proportions of users of 25-44 and 45-54 age groups as their trends and figures remained the same, both reaching at 80 % in 2006. However, these figures were still relatively high compared to those of 55-64-year-old Internet surfers. The proportion of senior Internet users ranked fourth during the first 3 years (30%) before having a 20-percent boost in 2006.
