It continued to increase to around 50 percent in 1971 and around 60 percent in 1981. The increase continued in 1991 to around 70 percent. It then remained in around 70 percent in 2001, before slightly decreased in 2011 to around 60 percent.
Furthermore, households in rented accommodation started around 70 percent in 1918, but then fell to around 60 percent in 1939 and 1952. The decrease continued from 1961 in around 50 percent. It then decreased again in 1971 until 1991 from around 50 percent to 30 percent. A decade later in 2001, it remained unchanged in around 30 percent, until finally rose slightly in 2011 to around 30 percent.
